Hello! My name is Traci. I am originally from the state of Pennsylvania in the US but now I live in the state of Arkansas which is near the middle of the US. I am a TEFL-certified instructor. My academic credentials include a certified fraud examiner’s designation as well as a bachelor’s of arts in international relations, a master’s of business administration, and a master’s of science in psychology. I have 8 years of teaching experience which includes working as an academic teacher in a men’s prison, as a tutor for ESL children who spoke Spanish, and as a substitute teacher in the USA and in Berlin, Germany. For past the 1,5 years, I have taught business English and professional English to adult Russian professionals in Russia via SKYPE. Additionally, I have 5 years experience as a fiscal and compliance auditor and as a criminal analyst for a defense attorney.
Learning a new language also includes learning about the new culture because language and culture are connected. Language is necessary for communication which is mandatory for cooperation between people and employees from different cultures and countries. It is a language’s culture that determines what is funny, what is appropriate language and behaviors and what are not. Language requires understanding the culture’s social rules for communication and interaction.
When I am not working, I enjoy my two female horses. I often go for a horse ride in the woods near my home. I also trim horse hooves. I play fetch with my dogs. I also enjoy creative writing in the form of novel writing. At this time, I am currently writing a novel. In the past, I spent many years enjoying rock climbing, ice climbing, caving, downhill skiing, cross country skiing and motorcycle riding that has allowed me to see most of the continental US.
I am confident that I have the ability and the teaching techniques to help you reach your self-established English language goals in business and professional English, general English, pronunciation, conversational English and American English proficiency exams.
