On the initial stage of studying Chinese the most difficulty is connected with memorizing hieroglyphs.

With the course of time each student chooses his or her own system that helps to remember as many Chinese hieroglyphs as possible. To make this complicated task easier for you, below you may find some advice to those who are at the very starting point of learning Chinese

  1. Write hieroglyphs as often as possible, and going ahead don’t forget to return back and look through the previous symbols and write the ones you have managed to forget again.
  2. Organize a separate exercise-book for writing new words, transcription, definition in Chinese, Russian translation and examples.
  3. Work actively with a dictionary: writing down not only the needed hieroglyphs but also attractive for you words in combination with this symbol.
  4. Make up a great number of dialogues with new words, and write notes in Chinese for this.
  5. Learn radicals and the order of writing hieroglyphs, get to know the origin of each one.
  6. Watch as many Chinese serials as possible! These movies combine everyday standard informal language. As a rule, each film in Chinese contains subtitles to make your understanding easier. You may stop watching it in order to put down new expressions or words any time you get interest.
