How to work with 'old new words'. At the lesson the teacher often gives you supplementary words and phrases that your course book does not contain. In order to improve your vocabulary, you write them down, copy into a separate file and, as a rule, you end up forgetting about them. How to work with such words? Make it a rule to take 2-3 words from this list and make up sentences and dialogues. As soon as you have learnt a new rule, take a look at the list of the 'old new words', choose a word or phrase and make a couple of sentences, using this rule.

How to work with texts and dialogues. To improve you speaking skills you could retell a story from the person of each character. Make up questions to the texts and write all possible answers.

Yesterday you practised a Chinese hieroglyph for 20 times, but today you can't remember what it looks like and how it is spelled. It is typical of the initial stage of language learning.
