About a native tutor of Russian Natasha.
Hello and welcome!
My name is Natalia, and I am a philologist with a PhD in Linguistics. For fifteen years I have been teaching at Ural State University, where I share my passion for Russian folklore, Ural mythology, and classical literature.
For more than eleven years I have also been teaching Russian as a foreign language — and I truly love this work. Why? Because I see how my students grow, gain confidence, and open new doors for themselves. I often tell them: learning a language is like putting on clothes. Without it, you feel uncomfortable in daily life — whether in the street, at the shop, or at work. But once you master everyday communication, you feel at home anywhere, as if you were wearing your favorite universal jeans and T-shirt. And a deeper knowledge of Russian will give you access to universities, great career opportunities, and wonderful friendships with educated and interesting people.
When I teach, I feel like a tailor — creating a “perfect fit” in language learning for your needs, your goals, and your lifestyle. It takes patience, but the results are always worth it.
In my lessons we do much more than just study vocabulary and grammar. We also talk about current cultural and political events, explore Russian literature, and work through those tricky parts of the language that usually cause difficulties. I carefully select audio and video materials to match your interests and goals. Step by step, you will develop a true “feel for the language,” which will give you confidence in any real-life situation.
I believe that one of the teacher’s most important roles is to keep learning enjoyable. Boredom and routine are the enemies of success. But if you have the desire to learn and a sense of humor, we will make a great team! I will be delighted to guide you into the richness of the Russian language and the depth of Russian culture.
